This project was created in response to Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions.
We have all experienced the unknown and uncertainty that Covid-19 brought during the last year. Separated from family and friends, and longing for the day to be reunited again.
Being around nature was my antidote to these everyday realities and my place of calm.
I created this series of painterly, abstract, and ethereal images by experimenting with slow shutter speeds and intentional camera movement. My intention was to convey my own interpretation and experience of being around nature, relating my thoughts and feelings during the pandemic.
The woodland image leads you to a space with no path, signifying the path we have to create post Covid lockdowns.
The next two images side by side evoke a powerful contrast of energy and calmness that play off one another.
Finally, you are met with the playful and joyful energy of the last image, the reunion of family and friends when Covid restrictions are lifted.
